Based on the 2016 study “Navigating a social world with robot partners: A quantitative cartography of the Uncanny Valley” by Maya B. Mathur and David B. Reichling, which collected 80 robot faces and tested human responses to sympathy and trust through explicit ratings and trust games, confirming the Uncanny Valley, where robots feel less trustworthy when they look almost human but not perfect
This archive reconstructs and updates these 80 faces as a visual tribute to Masahiro Mori (1927 - 2025)
